The Rous Public School playscape is inspired by the student’s creativity and aspirations for a treehouse and nature play area where everyone can play. It will be a place where students are active, learn new things and create great memories through play.
Working with the kids can be fun! We met some students from Rous Public School representing various ages and capabilities. The students told us the types of nature play equipment that they liked and designed on paper their own playground! Some popular ideas included treehouses, obstacle courses, tunnels, rope-based play, places to hide / cubby houses and building and creating activities.
The plans provided a tool for the P&C to liaise with the principal and department and to seek funding.
The playscape is currently being constructed.
